If you had a chance, be grateful.

Expanded Meaning:   We are hiring tons and tons of people now to help with Christmas season.   I see people coming in that didn’t have a chance to get education, learning and expand in life.   We pay them well for the given market , but it just makes you realize how fortunate some of us are, and how some just didn’t have a chance.

A further elaboration on this thought, is that those people live a century behind the fortunate ones.  Where as we drive cars, have pluming, and warmth during winter from gas – a whole number of people live in a a time where the toiler is a hole in the ground, heating is by coal, and warmth means a warm blanket.
