Well, so this is a bit like out of Saturday Night Live! :) I have set my goal for Base Camp Everest and now I need to get myself in shape to do it. So a bit like in Saturday Night Live, I’m trying these visual ques motivational tricks. From all the self-improvement, psyche books this is supposed to be a VERY powerful tool. I”m using this for my business now- but I have NEVER tried this to apply to myself.
So, time for something new.
Posted visual quos around the house as a reminder of my goal. Honestly, it feels silly – BUT – its a different pattern from what I did before, so I’m curious to see how this plays out. Alex was very helpful with this project – and was happy to help. If this technique works, as according to literature it should, it would be nice for her to learn how we can self-motivate.
Beyond this, I have a book on cognitive behavior modification theory – one of the books I read – had suggested that Cognitive Behavior Modification is the best way to alters’ once behaviors – so I’m going to take this opportunity to learn about CBM techniques – and play with that as well.
The cool thing is that I’m breaking the patterns that I have repeated year on year – so its interesting to experiment on yourself!
